Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola) a secretive species with huge knowledge gaps in both breeding and migration, some great studies but more would be welcome, truly a fascinating bird.

Red Grouse (Lagapus scotica) a species only found in the Britsih Isles, along with heather moorland attract a huge number of visitors each year, human tourist and other species that choose to live on the heather moorland.

Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola) a nocturnal feeder and breeder on open ground as well as in woodland, survey methods of breeding Woodcock in the UK miss out huge areas of open ground, it is likely the estimated number of breeding birds it underestimated.
