Roses 2025 is over, and WHAT a weekend it’s been!
A huge well done to every single one of our athletes and competitors for your hard work this week, and dedication over the last few months. It might not be the result we hoped for, but this has been a spectacular weekend by every measure. We hope that you’re all incredibly proud of everything you’ve achieved this weekend.
Congratulations to Lancaster University Students' Union on a well-earned victory! With a final score of York 160 - Lancaster 184, we’ll grudgingly admit that you should also be pretty proud of yourselves. But with the winner not confirmed until minutes before the closing ceremony this afternoon, we’re pleased to say we gave you a good run for your money!
Roses is about celebrating the absolute best parts of life at York, and embracing the remarkable community we've built on campus and beyond. Over the course of this weekend we've seen so many beautiful moments of friendship, resolve and camaraderie between our competitors, supporters and visitors - that's what Roses is all about!
A massive thank you to everyone who helped to make this weekend happen. From volunteers to bar staff, event leads to graphic designers, coaches to student media, a huge amount of work goes into making Roses the incredible celebration it is. It's testament to our fantastic community here at York that we're able to pull off events like this time and time again.
Plus, a thanks to our partners Equitix, University of York, York Sport, York Parties | York's Biggest Club Nights & Events and Voodoo Events, who all played big roles in making Roses the spectacle that it’s been.
To everyone who played even the smallest part in putting Roses 2025 together, thank you; we quite literally couldn't have done it without you!
WHAT a weekend it’s been! We can’t wait to do it all over again next year, Lancaster University!
