Armed Forces Week Spotlight: Cadet Force Adult Volunteer
Meet Jack Dawson from our Larkhill office, where he supports the MoD Housing contract as Commercial Administrator. Outside of work, Jack is making a big impact as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) with the Wiltshire Army Cadet Force. Through his role, Jack helps teach the next generation of cadets essential skills in military knowledge, fieldcraft, teamwork, and more. He’s completed his Adult Instructors Course (AIC) last July, which helps him further support and inspire young cadets. Jack says becoming an Adult Volunteer has been incredibly rewarding, and he recommends it to anyone looking to make a difference.

Armed Forces Week – Celebrating Our Veterans
As part of Armed Forces Week, we are proud to recognise the service and contribution of our veterans within the Antac team.
Leadville Parsons joined Antac as Health and Safety Manager, initially supporting our Ministry of Defence contract and working closely with our site teams. His military career spans 24 years of service in the British Army, bringing a wealth of experience, leadership, and professionalism to his role today.
Leadville enlisted in the Army in 1990 at the age of 16, beginning his career with the Junior Leaders Regiment Royal Corps of Transport. Following his training, he served with transport regiments in Tidworth and Colchester, developing his skills as a Driver and Transport Soldier before transferring to the Adjutant General’s Corps in 1996.
Throughout his career, Leadville served across a wide range of units and establishments, including Signals, Infantry, Logistics, Engineering, and Headquarters formations. His service took him on operational tours and overseas deployments to Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, the Falkland Islands, and Afghanistan, where he supported military operations in often demanding and challenging environments.
Rising through the ranks from Driver to Sergeant, Leadville gained extensive experience in administration, personnel support, training, and military operations. He also played a key role in supporting the Army-wide implementation of the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) system as part of the JPA Tiger Team.
After completing 24 years of distinguished service, Leadville left the Army in 2014. The values instilled throughout his military career, integrity, commitment, adaptability, and leadership, continue to shape his approach to health and safety management and his contribution to the Antac team.

Armed Forces Week – Celebrating Our Veterans
This Armed Forces Week, we're proud to recognise the veterans who continue to bring their skills, experience, and dedication to Antac.
Today, we're shining a spotlight on some of the members of the Health & Safety Team. Martin Hyndman, one of our Health & Safety Managers, who supports our MoD Housing Division in Aldershot. Before joining Antac, Martin served with the Parachute Regiment, earning his maroon beret through one of the British Army's toughest training programmes.
Martin has shared some memorable moments from his military career:
B Company, 1 PARA - Photo 1
This photograph was taken during a Friday morning 10-mile TAB across Aldershot Common. Martin is pictured amongst the troops crossing the Engineers' Bridge that once spanned Fleet Road near Puckridge Barracks. Leading the group is the legendary Major Mason, affectionately known as "Mad Dog Mason."
Life as a Recruit - Photo 2
Taken in an eight-man room at Browning Barracks during Depot Para training, this photo shows Martin and a fellow recruit after completing a gruelling ten-mile beasting. Despite the challenge, they're still smiling!
Earning the Maroon Beret - Photo 3
This image captures the recruits who remained after the demanding P Company test week, the selection process required to earn the right to serve in the Parachute Regiment. Taken at Hankley Common, it marks the beginning of parachute training, including jumps from barrage balloons before progressing to RAF Brize Norton to train on parachute jumps from a C-130 Hercules aircraft.

The final image shows Martin on border patrol in Northern Ireland carrying a GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun). In a twist of fate, Martin was the only member of his recruit platoon posted to the 1st Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, who were then deployed on a two-year tour in Northern Ireland.
Martin's stories reflect the resilience, determination, and camaraderie that define military service. These qualities continue to make a valuable contribution to our teams and the customers we support today.

Armed Forces Week - Reserves Day
Over the past few years, Antac has been proud to support Lionheart Racing, a team that competes in the Armed Forces Race Challenge and number of other endurance racing events throughout the year under the army motorsport GT programme.

One of the team's members is Jonathan Candler, a REME Reservist with 19 Tank Transporter Squadron, based in Bulford. Jonathan has recently completed his second six-month deployment to Estonia, supporting NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence mission.

Jonathan began his career as an HGV mechanic apprentice before broadening his skills by joining the Army Reserve as a REME Vehicle Mechanic (VM). Through his service as a reservist, he has gained valuable experience, training and qualifications, while also contributing to important operational deployments overseas.

When asked about becoming a Reservist, Jonathan highly recommends it, not only for the training and personal development opportunities but also for the discipline, teamwork and lifelong friendships it provides.

As we celebrate Reserves Day, we would like to thank Jonathan and all members of the Armed Forces community for their dedication, commitment and service.

Congratulations to Antac employee Michael Hawes, who has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the Officer in Charge of the Riders at the RAF Halton Motorbike Club for his contribution to the Wendover Hut Community Project.

The project focused on refurbishing an external community area used by a number of local groups, including the Scouts and the RAF Halton Motorbike Club. Working alongside a team of volunteers, the project involved clearing brambles, replanting shrubs and improving the overall appearance of the site.

Michael played a key role in the project, repairing a damaged fence and supporting the wider team throughout the volunteering session.

Well done, Michael, on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for representing both the Armed Forces community and Team Antac so positively.

This week as part of Armed Forces week we share stories from veterans, reservists and adult cadet volunteers across the business. Robert Murray served for 31 years in the British Army. He began his military career with the 2nd Battalion, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment, before the battalion transitioned to the 2nd Battalion, The Ranger Regiment, following the battalion's disbandment in 2023.

For the final two years of his service, Robert held the role of Lead Quartermaster (QM) at Keogh Barracks, where he was responsible for overseeing infrastructure and estate management. A key part of his role was improving the lived experience of personnel working and serving at the barracks.

In recognition of his outstanding service to the British Army, Robert was awarded a belated Commander Field Army Commendation, dated 14 June 2024 for his work as Lead QM. The photograph shows the Commanding Officer of 2 Ranger presenting the commendation to Robert at Keogh Barracks.

Today marks the start of Armed Forces Week 2026, a time to recognise and celebrate the dedication, service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community. We are proud of our long-standing connection with the Armed Forces, veterans and military family members who are part of our team. Throughout the week, we will be sharing stories and celebrating the individuals within our business who continue to support the Armed Forces community. Since early January, Antac has had a welfare cabin on site, and we're pleased to share some sustainable results. The cabin arrived with an initial fuel supply and, despite being in use for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, it has only required two fuel top-ups totalling just 50 litres. The cabin incorporates solar panels and rainwater harvesting technology, helping to reduce both fuel consumption and environmental impact while providing a comfortable welfare facility for our teams. A great example of how innovative site solutions can support both operational needs and our commitment to sustainability.

In preparation for the King's Birthday Parade last weekend, our team was busy behind the scenes ensuring the viewing stands at Horse Guards Parade were fully prepared and ready to welcome guests attending Trooping the Colour.

On Saturday, Jim Maidment, Martin Hyndman and Adna Laurindo began their training for the National Three Peaks Challenge, which they will be taking on in August 2026 alongside several other members of the Antac team. The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in the UK within 24 hours, including travel between each mountain, and will be a real test of endurance, teamwork and determination.
The team will be raising funds for two fantastic charities:

This photo was taken during their training walk at St Catherine's Hill, with Jim, Martin and Adna enjoying the sunshine, while Ada also joined in for the walk! It looks like they picked a perfect day for it. There will be plenty more training sessions over the coming months as the team prepares for the challenge ahead.
