What a fantastic and inspiring day at The Big Listen – One Table, One Town in St Neots on Friday.
A huge congratulations to the St Neots Initiative, St Neots Citizens Hub, and Alex Hughes and the army of community volunteers for delivering such a powerful and inclusive event, bringing the community together to shape the future of the town.
We were proud to see our Principal, Mark Robertson, contributing to the Infrastructure panel with great panellists from East West Rail, Urban & Civic and Places Matter and expertly chaired by Michelle Sacks, Huntingdonshire District Council, where one of the key messages that stood out was:
✅ investment in infrastructure must go hand in hand with investment in people.
With major developments and long-term growth across the region, from Universal to East West Rail, the opportunities ahead are significant; but unlocking them depends on skills, collaboration and community voice.
Mark highlighted that demand for skilled talent across industries is set to grow rapidly, creating real opportunities for people of all ages to access training, to reskill, and build meaningful careers.
Importantly, the discussion also focused on the 'soft infrastructure'; the relationships, connections and conversations that ensure everyone can see their place in the future being built.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stall and shared their ideas; it was a pleasure to be part of such an energising and optimistic day.
