Spanning some of the most stunning areas of Scotland, we are shaped by extraordinary landscapes and the seas that surround us. Where we learn helps to define us. You will find us among the mountains and forests and on islands. In historic towns and cities, hi-tech research parks, and state-of-the art learning environments. We bring together our collective expertise, uniting more than 30,000 students through our sense of place and purpose. More than most, we stand for diversity and opportunity. We offer more choice, more courses and more ways to learn. Our students can study at one of our campuses, world-class research centres, local learning centres, or online from wherever they want or need to be. We offer an outstanding experience, unlike anywhere else. UHI Inverness, where learning means more.

Congratulations to our student Jamie Mason-Pate whose project to support the early sensory development of babies has been selected to join the 2026 Converge KickStart Challenge.
Jamie’s project, NeuroNest Sensory Cover, is one of three by researchers and innovators from the UHI partnership to be included in this year’s Converge cohort of more than 120 of Scotland’s most promising academic start-ups.
They will take part in an intensive programme of entrepreneurial training and networking that supports university staff, students and graduates to develop entrepreneurial skills and transform innovative ideas into sustainable businesses.
Jamie, who studies An Introduction to Business Administration at UHI Inverness, has developed a concept to support the early sensory and motor development of premature and newborn babies during feeding.
Jamie said: “Being selected for Converge 2026 is an incredible opportunity for both myself and the NeuroNest Sensory Cover project. Being part of Converge KickStart gives me the chance to develop the idea further and connect with people who can help bring it to life.”
