Delivered by our Principal, Mrs Clarke, the first assembly of our Christmas Term saw our school community come together to hear an interesting interpretation on our core school values of aspiration, respect and confidence.

Mrs Clarke skillfully linked our recent rugby tour to Australia, to our school joey mascot. At St Jo's every student is a 'Joey', therefore Mrs Clarke took us through facts about kangaroos that work alongside our ethos.

The stand-out fact; kangaroos never move backwards, aligning perfecting with the journey of each student moving ahead this term.

We're ready to make history - are you?

The National Schools Rugby Festival is celebrating its 40th year this October and our students have been working hard over the summer with our preseason training to prepare for the festival.

Our dedicated coaching staff work closely with each student, providing personalised guidance and support to help them reach their full potential.

As the festival draws nearer, we want our players to have the confidence and skills needed to excel at what is the pinnacle of schoolboy rugby. We are proud of each student's journey with a commitment that goes beyond the pitch.

The festival is being held the 16-18 October with an exclusive Gala Dinner taking place Thursday 15 October to kick off the event which promises to be a highlight of the festival with the return of iconic winning teams and inclusion of respected guest speakers.

Attendees are encouraged to book their VIP experience now as tickets are selling fast and we have limited availability.

A new school year, a confident next step.

Today we welcome all pupils from Nursery all the way up to Sixth Form. Our pupils grow with us, surrounded by familiar faces, trusted relationships and a strong sense of belonging.

This continuity means that each September feels less like a daunting transition and more like a confident next step.

And while some pupils are returning to familiar surroundings, this week our community has already begun to welcome those joining us for the first time.

We can't wait to see where this next chapter takes you.

Beyond the game. Beyond the classroom.

Our students had an incredible five days during their Holland Football Tour. An unforgettable experience combining high-level training, the opportunity to meet former Barcelona and AC Milan player Kevin-Prince Boateng and touring the Phillips stadium, which is the home of the European powerhouse PSV Eindhoven.

At St Jo's we create experiences that broaden horizons, inspire ambition and create lifelong memories.

We are delighted to be celebrating 100% of our FPQ students achieving A*- A, and 86% A - C for our HPQ students.

FPQ and HPQ projects enable students to study areas of personal interest that can be bespoke to their individual goals and destinations. This kind of qualification can also help to develop research skills and independent learning, with the opportunity to explore topics in greater depth and build confidence in presenting ideas.

A huge well done to all our FPQ and HPQ students.

Here at St Jo's, we pride ourselves on the individual story of our students. We measure success not by numbers, but by their personal achievements as they strive to climb their Everest.

It is moments like today, as our students receive their GCSE results, that our community shines. Everybody's success is celebrated and our school, staff and parents share in the glory of each and every student.

Well done to all of our Year 11 students, we wish you the very best as you embark on your journey into Sixth Form.
