The Impact of Attending Boarding School
A workshop with Caroline Hawkey Barnes PTSTA (P)
What happens to a child sent away from home? And what stays with them long into adulthood?
This online workshop explores the lasting impact of boarding school on our clients. The adaptations they made to survive. The shame that can sit beneath a sense of abandonment.
Together we’ll examine our own frame of reference and the biases we might bring to this work. Drawing on the writing of Nick Duffell and Joy Schaverien, we’ll view their ideas through a TA lens.
This is an exploratory, curious space. One that holds an OK/OK position and makes room for everyone to express themselves and their needs. Caroline brings a creative, visual style and a belief that learning should be something we enjoy.
