Confucius Institute at University of Hull We offer and promote Chinese language and cultural programmes The Confucius Institute at University of Hull (CIUH) was established in early 2016.

Funded by the Ministry of Education of China, CIUH is a non-profit public institution whose stated aim is to promote Chinese language and culture. CIUH also supports local Chinese teaching, facilitates cultural exchanges, as well as promotes research cooperation between the University of Hull and its Chinese partner, Tianjin Normal University (TNU).

On behalf of the CIUH, a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Chinese Whispers™ Concert 2026!
We especially proud to see pupils from different schools come together, Presented wonderful Chinese songs.
The programme featured:
🎶Chinese-language choir performances by UK school children
💃Chinese classical dance
🪕Traditional Chinese instrumental performances
🎼Hull Male Voice Choir
🎤UoH student choir
It was a truly unforgettable evening, bringing together over 400 audiences to celebrate music, language, and culture.
