Our MBA students recently visited an Amazon fulfilment centre and Jaguar Land Rover near Liverpool, as part of their Operations Management module, where they got a first-hand look at how global organisations manage logistics, manufacturing and supply chains at scale.

From seeing operations in action to hearing directly from industry professionals, they gained invaluable real-world insights.

A big thank you to Amazon and Jaguar Land Rover for welcoming us!

A huge thank you to Dr Christof Rissbacher, Chairman of the Management Board of Aspiag Service S.r.l. (part of SPAR Austria Group), for joining us for yesterday’s Practice & Leadership Lecture on International Management in Practice.

The session offered valuable insights into leadership, international management, communication, and strategic investment within a global family-owned business.

A key theme throughout the lecture was the importance of people and communication at every level of an organisation - particularly across international teams and cultures. Dr Rissbacher highlighted the value of embracing different perspectives, developing a common language across countries, letting go of pre-judgement, and fostering a willingness to cooperate and learn from one another.

The lecture also explored leadership and decision-making, including the importance of accepting mistakes, standing by decisions, and continuing to learn throughout your career.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaged discussion and Q&A.

A special thank you to Dr Bingbing Ge and Professor Alfredo De Massis for organising and hosting an excellent event.
