Exciting news! Our very own Dr Andrew Parker from is taking part in The Royal Society's ! 🎉

Dr Parker will be taking part in the panel "Is the future nuclear" on 5th July, 2.20pm-3pm alongside Matthew Sparkes, writer for New Scientist, Shahnaz Hoque, former nuclear engineer, and Dr Shini Somara, award-winning mechanical engineer and science broadcaster.

Our wonderful spinout Quantum Base is looking for some interns!

Quantum Base is a Lancaster-based deep-tech company developing quantum optical physical unclonable functions (PUFs) for anti-counterfeiting applications - and they're looking for an intern to join their research engineering department!

The job:
⚛ A 3-month paid internship designing and making bespoke scientific instruments.
⚛ Much of this role will involve taking an open-ended scientific question and building the right tools to explore it!

What we're looking for:
⚛ Someone with a background in physics, electronic engineering, computer science (hardware) or material sciences.
⚛ A CV, and a description of a project you have built in your own time, ideally hardware or software.

Reminder that we have our fabulous Pride in STEM event next weekend at The Gregson Centre on 7th June, 10am-3pm! We have lots of fantastic, family-friendly activities happening in the Main Hall, PLUS some wonderful LGBTQ+ themed talks on in the Secret Cinema. 🌈🏳️‍🌈
