We are PsychSoc (Lancaster University Psychology Society)! Each year we put on events which bring together psychology students with others that are interested in psychology. We've organised events from academic talks by resident and guest lecturers to quiz nights, BBQ’s and nights out. This year looks like its going to be PsychSoc’s best year yet! We’re going to continue all our fantastic events f

We will be running another meditation session with Francesca Citron next Wednesday (24th May) as a de-stress from exams. It will be in Grizedale common room at 4pm, so come and along and make sure to look after your mental health during the exam period 🧠🩵

Next week there will be an online careers event on Thursday 23rd Feb! We’ll be having a half hour talk from an educational psychologist and a half hour talk from an occupational psychologist, followed by a Q&A. They will give a short introduction to what their jobs involve, and how to get into the field. The link is on our stories and in our bio. Hope to see lots of you there! 🧠💜

Next Wednesday we have a collab with criminology, history, politics and philosophy society! It’ll be a bar crawl starting at 8pm at Bier and Twist. Feel free to come for the full bar crawl or just part of it. Can’t wait to see everyone there! 💜

Our next event will be an Introduction to 304 session with 2 post graduate researchers. They’ll be talking a little bit about their dissertation projects and be sharing some of their advice. There also will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. This event is open to all! Next week we will be collaborating with the Debating Union. We need 3-4 psych soc members to help the join the debate team in arguing the motion. There will be time to prepare your arguments on the day. If you are interested please DM this account and you will be added to a group chat with more information. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and hope to see you there :)

Next Thursday (2nd Feb) is Time to Talk day, so we will be running a meditation session with Francesca Citron from 4-5pm in Fylde common room. Time to Talk is a day about bringing people together to talk about mental health, so come along and learn how meditation can help your mental well-being 💜 We want to make this a safe space to talk about your experiences, so Francesca will be there after the session if anyone would like someone to talk to ☺️
