After 18 wonderful years, we are saddened to say that LU Voices (formerly Gospel Choir) will be coming to an end.
This was not a decision the executive ever thought they’d have to make, but unfortunately the impact of COVID-19 has forced our hand. As many societies can testify, recruitment has been incredibly difficult this last year. Consequently, the society has been unable to find a new executive to take the reins, as the third years move on to new pastures.
We hope, as we are handing the society over to LUSU, that the choir may be resurrected in the future. But for now, we must say goodbye.
LU Voices has created life-long friendships and lasting memories. For so many of us, this choir was the highlight of our university experience and in people’s memories, it lives on.
We would like to thank our members, old and new, for their commitment and enthusiasm for the society. The choir would have been nothing without you guys. Likewise, we must thank the executives of past and present for their work in keeping the society going. It really does take a village!
Finally, we would like to thank every single person who has supported the society, both in person and online. We loved making music for you!
