This nomination belongs to our whole community. Since 2021, our Empowering University strategy has been about redesigning higher education around the realities of modern student life and nowhere is that truer than in our move to block teaching.

A team of our students have been working hard on our phones today, making calls to and taking calls from A-Level pupils on results day, as we were able to offer thousands of individuals an offer for September.

A really proud moment for DMU.

The university has risen 20 places in the new Daily Mail University Guide 2027, one of the biggest rises of any UK university.

On A-level results day, it’s particularly timely to be celebrating a result that reflects the experience and outcomes DMU offers students.

Daily Mail University Guide Editor Alastair McCall said: “Improvements on this scale are rare and should be celebrated,” describing DMU as “one of the most upwardly mobile universities in the UK”.

The rise takes DMU into the UK’s top 90, at 89th in the national league table, and reflects improvements in student experience and graduate outcomes.

The universities block teaching approach has contributed to improved National Student Survey scores, while stronger graduate outcomes have also supported DMU’s performance in the rankings.

The result follows a strong run of recent successes for DMU, including being ranked among the UK’s top ten universities for employability.

A fantastic result that reflects the hard work and commitment of all our staff and students.
