The University of Lincoln Creative Writing Society (ULCW) is a brand new society for the University which launched in September 2012. The aims of the society are primarily to bring together all the many different kinds of creative writing be that song lyrics, music, books (fiction or non-fiction works), poetry, script and more and to act as a hub for all of this work where members can exchange ide
as, critique work and get together socially with other students who have similar creative interests. Throughout the year we will be organising special events, talks and workshops with local writers and musicians who will be more than willing to provide tips on improving and homing in your own skills as well as answering any questions you might have in terms of the specific area in which they work. As you may know Lincoln and the wider area boasts a number of great creative festivals and I hope that we will be able to run trips to some of these towards the middle/end of the academic year. At the same time we will be holding regular socials (club nights etc, but also other exciting plans) and working towards producing an anthology of work by the end of the year, if people have progressed enough / feel willing to submit work to this kind of a project. If you're interested in joining the society, to network with writers, publishers and those who work in the industry join our facebook group for members here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/430845700291341/
