that we offer an Assessment Only Route (AOR) into teaching?

AOR is aimed at candidates who are have teaching experience but are unqualified. It is ideal for those who have been teaching for a minimum of two years, who can assemble evidence of meeting the standards for qualified teacher status (QTS)

Entry Criteria:
• Grade C (or equivalent) at GCSE in English and mathematics.
• Additionally, to train to teach pupils aged 3-11: Grade C (or equivalent) at GCSE in a science subject.
• Hold a first degree* of a United Kingdom Higher Education Institution or equivalent qualification.
• Passed the Professional Skills Tests in Literacy and Numeracy prior to commencement of the assessment period.
• Have taught in at least two schools, early years and/or further education settings
• Have taken part in a selection process designed to assess suitability to teach and the ability to demonstrate meeting all the standards for QTS without the need for any further training
*A first degree comprises 300 HE credit points of which 60 must be at level 6 of the QCF.

We offer:
• Bespoke advice prior to and during the application process.
• A transparent process that allows candidates who meet the AO Entry criteria to gain QTS within a 12 week assessment period.
