Research on women of the Viking world has gained momentum in recent years, with new perspectives and possibilities being introduced. However, there is growing evidence to suggest women enjoyed more active and varied societal roles which are far more significant than have previously been considered. Thus, this conference aims to b

ring together scholars from all disciplines of the field to deliver this new broader perspective on women of the Viking world.

ANNOUNCEMEMT ———-

Ok ….. want to know our little secret ??? …….. well ….. a few months ago we had a ‘little’ conversation with the Scottish Society for Northern Studies with a view to collaborating on publishing the full Conference Proceedings of our Women of the Viking World conference as a stand alone volume, and it’s going to happen 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

It’s not going to happen quickly, probably 3-4years (we do have PhDs to finish first 🫣😜) but it WILL happen and needs to happen. We will be contacting speakers in the new year once we work out the fine details of word count etc, so keep an eye out on your email inbox’s ❤️🥰.

So …. The latest edition, No. 7, 2024, of the Journal of Medieval Norse Studies contains a lovely review written by Kim Bergqvist of our recent conference in University of Liverpool. ❤️🥰🥰. But you’ll have to look it up yourself I’m afraid otherwise we may end up in FB jail 🫣.
