The course is of nine-months duration running from January to September each year comprising monthly distance learning study packs; two intensive residential seminars, each of four days duration which are an essential and integral part of the course. The extensive monthly study packs consist of reference material; commentaries on current issues in the management of practice and the management of p
rojects; study material, exercises and assignments. The residential seminars take place at University of Chester, usually over the last weekend before Easter and the last/first weekend in June/July. These seminars are intensive, generally running from 0900 to 2100 hours each day; residential participation in these seminars is an assential part of the course. The sessions include lectures, group working, seminars and tutorials. Participants are encouraged to maintain contact with the organisers during the period of the course. Personal interviews and tutorials are available by arrangement in the regional office or elsewhere including office based briefings. Advice and guidance on practical training and experience and the monitoring of training records is available to examination candidates participating in the course.
