Ciao! 😊

What a wonderful afternoon we had yesterday celebrating our finalist students at the LCF Finalists’ Farewell Celebration and the Student-led Awards!

It was a great opportunity for LCF to celebrate the achievements of students and staff members alike, and Italian was indeed very well represented, with three awards!

For the student section, the winners were:

- Millie Delaney, for the Most Dedicated Student award; 👩‍🎓
- Lydia Moore, for the Outstanding Student Representative/Ambassador award. 👩‍🎓

For the staff section, the winner was:

- Fausto Dardi, for the Outstanding Lecturer award. 🧑‍🏫

Congratulations to them, and to the whole Italian Team! 🎉

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our finalist students for such a fantastic year together, and as we bid farewell to them, we are filled with excitement for what we are sure will be a bright future ahead! ❤️

We wish them every success in life! 💕👏

Drawing on four years of research, Justin will reflect on projects including On Being Present, exploring how Black African figures have been represented in Italian Renaissance art and how these narratives can be rethought today through more open and accessible approaches to cultural engagement.

Ciao! 💕

Avete visto il nuovo film di Paolo Sorrentino, "La Grazia"?
Have you watched "La Grazia", the new film by Paolo Sorrentino?

"La Grazia" is the new film by Academy and BAFTA Award–winning filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino ("The Great Beauty", 2013, and "The Hand of God", 2021). The plot revolves around the character of Mariano De Santis, a fictional President of Italy (played by Toni Servillo), who is nearing the end of his term as he faces a series of morally complex decisions.

"La Grazia" explores themes of beauty, time, and emotional emptiness. Through poetic imagery and a lingering sense of melancholy, it captures the fragile balance between what we desire and what we lose.

In Liverpool, you can watch the film at FACT and Odeon. 📽️🎞️

Che cosa state aspettando? Correte al cinema!👌

Ciao! 🎉

State seguendo il Festival di Sanremo?
Are you watching the Sanremo Festival?

The Sanremo Festival is Italy's annual song festival held in the city of Sanremo, in Liguria, where artists perform original, unreleased songs, with the winner decided by a combination of jury votes and public televoting.

Started in 1951, it is the longest-running annual national TV music competition in the world. It runs for five consecutive nights in February, and... guess what? It's on RIGHT NOW! 💪🏻

Tonight will mark the fourth night of the Festival, known as the cover night, which is when all the contestants perform a cover song, typically accompanied by special guests.

Do tune in if you want to find out more and experience the essence of one of Italy's biggest cultural events! You can watch the Festival live from everywhere in the world on https://www.raiplay.it.

Below is the list of this year's contestants! Let us know which song is your favourite!
