As is tradition when an ISS programme comes to an end, we're taking a short break to rest and recharge our batteries ready to start again for 2023.

To all of our 2022 ISS Graduates, once again a massive congratulations and the best of luck with all your future endeavours.

It has been such a pleasure getting to know our new friends from Ukraine this year. They are all wonderful ambassadors for their university and their country, and we wish them all the best of luck.

We had a long talk with ourselves and we can finally say it out loud: the 2022 International Summer School has come to an end!

Friday was an emotional day, saying goodbye to all of you, our final 2022 cohorts. It has been a pleasure watching you all discover what our city and University of Liverpool has to offer, on campus and online. You are all true Scousers now.

We wish you all the best of luck in the future, and don't forget to always .

Here we are then, already halfway through this year's International Summer School! We've said hello to our 4-6 students, goodbye to our 1-3 students and seen smiles and tears in the process. It's been emotional!

We're almost at the half way point of this year's ISS! Tomorrow, we say goodbye to our Weeks 1-3 students and say hello to our new Weeks 4-6 cohort. We're so excited to meet everyone.

In the meantime though, we have been *very* busy, hitting the waves, working hard and a pilgrimage to Anfield!

We are honoured to be able to do our part to support this incredible initiative.

It has been a pleasure working with and getting to know the students and staff from Sumy State University so far, both online and on-campus, and we look forward to welcoming even more students to the University of Liverpool this summer and beyond.

We are pleased to announce that we have been officially twinned with Sumy State University, Ukraine.

We joined 23 other UK universities at an event today to sign up to the new partnership scheme which will help to provide support to Ukrainian Universities. We hope to help them to not only survive the war, but emerge stronger and play an important role in post-war reconstruction.

Together with Sumy State University we have already embarked on a range of initiatives to help respond to their current needs, including: providing free places at our International Summer School (in-person and online); providing accommodation and travel support; providing access to online resources; and, providing support for academics.

While short-term assistance is vital, we are seeking to build lasting ties of cooperation and cultural exchange that will outlast the war and contribute to the rebuilding of the Ukrainian education system when the war is over.

For our big Weeks 1-3 trip, our friends at Daytripper took us on an amazing trip to Penrhyn Castle and Bets y Coed in Wales.

Stunning architecture and sunny weather, a very potent mix. Only down the road too*
