✨Adrian Dunbar and Neil Morrissey know first-hand how life-changing Guildhall School can be.

Hear them talk about their own experiences at the School and how the right training at the right moment can shape a lifetime in the arts.

By supporting the Adrian Dunbar and Neil Morrissey Scholarships, you can help a talented student accept their place, focus fully on training and take their first steps into the profession.

And thanks to the generosity of a scholarship supporter, every gift is currently being matched, meaning your donation goes twice as far.

🎥Recently, we came across this short documentary from 1969, which presents a background to the construction of the Barbican Estate and looks forward to its various offerings, including, of course, a new building for Guildhall School.

We’ve been really loving hearing your memories from Silk Street's opening and beyond – and if you’ve managed to hold on to any bits and pieces from your time at the School, we’d love you to share these too by leaving a comment or message!

PS – bonus points for anyone who can let us know what the students are playing at 09:58 in the video below. 🪈

📰 At the time of the opening of Guildhall School’s site at Silk Street, there was excitement over many elements of the architecture, design and technical offerings of the building; not least the retractable and rearrangeable seating of its new theatre. 🎭

What stood out to you when you first arrived at Silk Street? Was it the concert hall, the corridors, or the practice rooms? Leave a comment and let us know! 📢
