What happens when a King’s alumna comes back to build something outside her degree? 🤔

Meet Pierrette, founder of SenaForma, a community-led ecosystem of digital and physical products designed with disabled people, not just for them.

Before becoming a health tech entrepreneur, Pierrette studied German and English Literature at King’s. She stayed connected with the university after graduating, getting more involved with the Entrepreneurship Institute and eventually joining the King’s Start-up Accelerator last year.

When research creates an impact beyond the lab. 👏🔬

This month, we celebrated the second cohort of spinouts at the Spinout Accelerator Showcase.

Five researcher-led ventures took to the stage, each turning bold ideas into real solutions for health, security and clean energy after 12 months on our King’s Spinout Accelerator programme.

Several of these ventures will continue working with us and keep progressing toward raising investment. 🚀

We’re excited to share that the Government chose King’s to announce a new charter supporting women in research! 🔬✨

Secretary of State Liz Kendall MP joined us to launch it, tackling the barriers that too often force women to choose between building a career and building a family. Women make up over half of science undergraduates, yet hold just 31% of professorships.

We were so proud to have our Women Entrepreneurs Network (WEN) in the spotlight, with members and Spinout Accelerator founders sharing their own stories directly with the Secretary of State.

June Community Spotlight! ☀️ While everyone’s eyes are on the World Cup, our community has been scoring some big wins of their own:

🔹 LockEyeGaze exhibited at Infosecurity Europe 2026, delivering a talk titled “Looking Beyond the Face” on how their gaze-enhanced authentication technology helps verify live human presence and defends against deepfakes and AI spoofing.

🔹 Your UK Healthcare Navigator 🩺 made it into the last five of the NatWest Accelerator Pitch competition, and roxanne gave a great pitch at the final at the The University of Oxford

🔹 Another month, another prestigious feature for MUI | Diamonds & Gems by Clarice Ng 🌻 celebrated in VANITY FAIR June issue for its bespoke jewellery made with lab-grown diamonds and ethically-sourced gemstones.

🔹 Aya Safieddine spoke with MOJEH about .co and the London pop-up “Dear Lebanon, With Love,” which brought together over 40 designers to raise funds for families displaced by conflict.

🔹 Mozart AI launched a new model that lets anyone sing in their own voice by recording just 60 seconds of audio. Another stepping stone towards making music creation more personal and accessible.
