We’re delighted to announce that Professor Adrien Desjardins (Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering and Wellcome / EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences) has been awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair in Clinical Translation of Optical Ultrasound Imaging. 🎉

Focusing on industry-relevant research, the Academy’s Research Chairs and Senior Research Fellowships scheme enhances the links between academia and businesses with each of the prestigious five-year positions co-sponsored by an industrial partner. Each awardee will establish a world-leading research group in their engineering field.

Professor Desjardins’ research aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular patients by developing all-optical ultrasound imaging probes for real-time visualisation of tissues and medical devices from inside the body.

Huge congratulations to Professor Desjardins! 🎉 Read more about it using the link in our bio ⬆️⬆️⬆️
