🎨 Work in Progress is back!

We’re delighted to announce a new edition of Work in Progress, our annual end-of-year exhibition celebrating the creativity, talent, and dedication of our Foundation year students.

Join us on Thursday, 11 June 2026, from 2pm-7pm at our Canary Wharf Campus, where our November 2025 cohort will present the culmination of a year of hard work, experimentation, and artistic exploration.

🙌🏻For those discovering Work in Progress for the first time, the exhibition showcases our Foundation students’ final project. ➡️Students are given nine concepts and must choose one to develop it into a creative box project. They have complete freedom to interpret their chosen concept however they wish.
One of the most exciting aspects of the exhibition is seeing how differently a single idea can be explored and brought to life. And we’re sure that our November 2025 students have done an amazing job.

Whether you're a student, artist, educator, creative professional, or simply curious about art and design, we would love to welcome you.

Everyone is welcome here. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

To celebrate Pride Month, we took over the Fashion Lab, fired up the press, and turned plain white T-shirts into a message we're proud to wear.

Students and staff side by side, wheater as allies or members of the LGBTQ+ community, showing what our VCAD community is all about. We all come from different backgrounds, different stories, different identities, but one shared commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and respect.

And we wear that commitment with pride.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at VCAD!🌈

🚀The VCAD Team, in collaboration with Dr K. Santayana, Dean of Learning and Teaching, recently hosted a series of Micro Seminars over two days-28 and 29 May-for our CertHE Business Management for Creatives students. The sessions focused on learning, future academic progression, and career planning as our Level 4 students prepare for their next steps.

We were delighted to welcome our Director of Academics, Ann Healey, and our Careers & Employability Lead, Ilze Li, who highlighted the support available to students throughout their academic and professional journeys.

On Day 1, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Islam who delivered an inspiring session on self-employment and entrepreneurship, exploring the advantages of starting a business in the UK and the importance of storytelling in building a successful brand.

On Day 2, Mr Mohi Uddin (CIPFA, FFA, FIPA, ARA, FHEA), Principal of Taxmart Accountants Ltd joined and shared his entrepreneurial journey with students, offering valuable insights into business growth, client relationships, and long-term professional success.

🌟A huge thank you to our guest speakers and students for making these seminars such a success. We look forward to continuing to support our students every step of the way.

Eid al-Adha Mubarak! 🌙

Eid al-Adha, the second of the two annual Eid celebrations, is observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of reflection, generosity, and unity.

At VCAD, we celebrate the values of compassion, support, and community that this occasion inspires, and we extend our warm wishes to everyone observing.

May this special celebration bring peace, happiness and blessings to everyone! ✨

VCAD Manchester Campus has been officially opened by Councillor Eamonn O’Brien, Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Lead for Technical Education.

Cllr O’Brien was joined by Arlene Foster, Baroness Foster of Alghadrumsee, and senior executives from VCAD and the PEN Group, to celebrate the launch of VCAD Manchester.

Manchester is a city recognised globally for its creative industries, business innovation and talent and so it was an obvious and ideal location for VCAD’s new campus.

At VCAD, our mission is to prepare the next generation with industry knowledge, real-world insight, and the confidence to push boundaries and create new opportunities for both themselves and others.

It was an honour to welcome Cllr Eamonn O’Brien and we are truly grateful to him for taking the time to share in this exciting day for the VCAD team and our students.

Victoria College of Arts and Design is proud to support Robin Kirby with a £500 donation following his incredible achievement in completing the London Marathon 2026 in aid of Arts University Plymouth’s Charitable Trust.

This fantastic cause helps students, young people and children access and develop creative learning opportunities, and we are delighted to play a part in supporting such meaningful work.

Well done, Robin, on completing the marathon – a brilliant achievement for an even greater cause!

A great week of student trips at VCAD. 🚀

Our students stepped into creative spaces across London, experiencing how ideas come to life in the real world. Galleries, brand spaces, networking events, and live experiences all became part of the learning. 🙌

Each trip gave them the chance to connect classroom lectures with real-world experience and industry insight.

We can’t wait for the next adventures! ✨

From libraries to galleries, street art to iconic city spaces - last week, our students took their learning beyond the classroom and into London ✨

For their Fundamentals and Thinking Through Making units, students visited the Tate Modern to study artists and support their primary research. In the afternoon, they went to Southbank Skatepark to interview skaters, take photos, and observe the environment.

For their Specialist Project and Developing Specialist Practice units, students visited the Victoria and Albert Museum to gather creative references and explore exhibition spaces, before heading to Piccadilly Circus to analyse brand advertising and visual storytelling.

Fashion Design students visited Central Saint Martins Library to research books and develop ideas, before exploring Dover Street Market and its approach to fashion retail and spatial design.

Graphic Design students explored Hackney’s graffiti, murals, and street art for inspiration, then visited the V&A Storehouse to continue their research.

Fashion Media & Marketing students visited the British Library for research, then explored Dover Street Market and surrounding stores to study branding, visual language, and fashion campaigns.

At VCAD, we believe the best learning happens through real-world experience - observing, analysing, and being inspired by the industries students are preparing to join.

Last week was a great example of learning brought to life 💫
