What a fantastic evening at our Fellowship & Ci**rs event! It was great catching up with Brethren, both familiar faces and new connections, enjoying each other’s company over a fine smoke and good conversation.

Also great to meet a couple of potential candidates from the cigar world who joined us, eager to learn more about the Craft. It was a pleasure sharing insights and stories with them in such a relaxed setting.

Looking forward to the next gathering already!

On this Remembrance Day, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of those who fought to defend the freedoms we cherish today. As Freemasons and as citizens, we understand the importance of preserving our history and remembering the values and lessons that shaped our nation.

“A nation that forgets its past has no future.” These words serve as a timeless reminder to never let the memory of those who came before us fade. As we light our ci**rs today, we remember and reflect on the bravery and service of those who stood for liberty and justice.

🌟✨ Brother Rudyard Kipling’s Timeless Bond with Ci**rs and Masonry ✨🌟

At the Masonic Cigar Club, we celebrate the rich history and passions of our brethren. Today, we honor Brother Rudyard Kipling, a literary giant whose love for ci**rs and Freemasonry left an indelible mark on his work and life.

Rudyard Kipling, initiated into Freemasonry in India at the tender age of 20, found in the Craft a wellspring of inspiration. His time with Hope and Perseverance No.782 (E.C.) deeply influenced his storytelling, from the adventures in Kim to the brotherhood in The Man Who Would Be King. Though he left active Masonry at 24, the principles and fellowship remained a cornerstone of his life and writing.

Kipling’s affinity for ci**rs was as profound as his love for Masonry. In his poem “The Betrothed,” he eloquently penned:
“A woman is only a woman, but a good Cigar is a Smoke.”
This line resonates with us, celebrating the simple yet profound pleasures that bind us together.

🌟 Discover Mark Twain's Masonic Legacy and Love for Ci**rs 🌟

Did you know that the legendary author Mark Twain was a fellow Freemason? Initiated as an Entered Apprentice at Polar Star Lodge No. 79 on February 18th, 1861, Brother Twain was among many riverboat pilots of his time. After being raised to Master Mason, he left for the Nevada Territory to join his brother Orion. Although this led to a short-term suspension, evidence shows Twain's interest in visiting other Masonic lodges during his time out west.

Upon returning from Nevada, Twain quickly petitioned for reinstatement to his home lodge. In the late 1890s, Twain embarked on a world lecture tour to Australia, India, Canada, and beyond, often finding Masonic connections in each country. He was particularly fascinated by Lebanon's ties to the Craft and even sent a hand-crafted gavel to the Worshipful Master at Polar Star Lodge.

Twain's dedication to Freemasonry was also reflected in his writings, where he often referenced Masonic terms like the "great Architect of the Universe." Known as the “Father of American Literature,” Twain's commitment to writing, exploring, and Freemasonry is truly inspiring.

Twain was also a passionate cigar aficionado, often seen with a cigar in hand while crafting his iconic tales. He famously said, "If I cannot smoke in heaven, then I shall not go." His love for ci**rs was as enduring as his wit and storytelling.
