We were delighted to attend the inaugural Germany-UK Business-Government Forum in Berlin this week 🇩🇪🇬🇧
Hosted by the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce, together with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the forum brought together over 300 business and political leaders. As a flagship initiative under the Kensington Treaty, it marked an important new chapter in our two countries’ shared commitment to growth, competitiveness, and resilience.
We were honoured to hear from Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche, and the UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, the Rt Hon Peter Kyle, who signed joint declarations on economic security, critical raw materials, and resilient supply chains.
A theme that especially resonated with us came from Secretary Kyle, who spoke about the importance of greater mutual recognition of qualifications and the need for highly skilled workers to drive economic growth in both countries. This is exactly where ECBM has spent the last 30 years building bridges, equipping the next generation of UK-German business leaders with qualifications and expertise that travel across borders.
A huge thank you to the organisers and to everyone who made the day such a success. We look forward to building on this momentum together.
