During the conference, he gave a sponsor talk, presented a poster, and met researchers, developers and deaf professionals from around the world to discuss the future of sign language technologies.

Exciting day at !

Calum is representing SignGPT at the DeafTech conference, sharing our poster on AI for Sign Language Technologies – bringing together communities alongside collaborators from UCL, University of Surrey, and Oxford.

Really good to see so many researchers, Deaf community members, technologists, and accessibility specialists all in one place discussing the future of sign language technology, ethics, AI, and inclusive design.

DCAL has submitted its response to the Government’s SEND reforms consultation.

Our response raises concerns that deaf children and young people are being overlooked within the proposed reforms, including issues around BSL recognition, language access, specialist support, and Qualified Teachers of the Deaf.
