Valentine is here! Love is in the air!
But my question is this:
why is love in the air and not in our hearts?
Where has love disappeared to before?
And where will it disappear to after val?
I just hope what we're celebrating is love.
I want to believe Valentine is not just a day that has been reduced to when "blind love" can be freely celebrated. Well, love is not blind; the only thing that's blind is lust. So in one way, I think you may possibly agree with me that if anything is 'in the air' on Val day, it is "lust"; the love that's blind. True love is lives in the heart--not in the air.
If you think I just don't love Val day, then you need to think again cause I do. It's a day I'm reminded of something that's most important to me in the world: love. Now, if you love LOVE, you will hate lust. Just as if you love babies you'll hate their abuse. If you truly love LOVE itself, then you must hate it's abuse: lust.
I'm I saying we don't fall short of love to lust at times? Heck no! Cause we do. But we don't have to love it; if we want it destroyed.
Love is not "me me me", love is directed on others. Love is not "I want it now"; it's patient. Love does not seek to get; only to give. Love means well when it hurts; only an enemy will rather kiss you than rebuke you.
Love is not blind, love sees; it's just that it can wait long enough till the change is done. Love never fails; never gives up; always wins; faithful till death. Love is just too much for me to grasp, I think I need to learn it only by trying (even though I'm prone to fall short of it).
Valentine--against what many people holds--is not just a day of "an event", but a day of "a reminder".
Valentine is not just a day to get enough of the "love that's in the air", and that will be all. No. Love cannot be "a one day thing". Love should be a daily attitude that should be the mark of our life time. And that's what I believe Valentine should remind us.
Valentine should not be reduced to "a love day thing". Imagine if God only have one day in the whole year that he sets apart to love us, and when that day is done, that will be all. Just as Easter reminds us of the death of Christ, so also, Valentine should remind us of the most important thing in the world: love.
Will it not call your attention to know that at the end of your life, what you "get" will not be what will really matter but what you "give"; how you loved.
We have a saying that goes: "if you cannot change them, join them". But I'll rather tell you this, "if you cannot change them, love them".
Patience is another way of telling someone you truly love him or her. Don't be too quick to judge; some people are only "products going through a process". They just need time, and only love can give that. I think if you knew who I was before, you wouldn't even want to associate with me as a friend. But I'm different now.
If you've never believe anything I've told you before, believe this one: I LOVE YOU! And that's why I've always kept contact with you and will pray for you.
Happy Val.
