Please note, as we are all finer, accomplished, ambitious, serving women... naturally, our calendars can get filled up quickly. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded on the Howard University campus on January 16, 1920 by 5 Phenomenal women. Since then, Zeta Phi Beta has promoted scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood. For over 100 years, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has given back through various community-based partnerships. Rather through our Z-Hope program or through one of the other numerous partnerships we have Zeta Phi Beta has always strived to leave the world a better place. Dr Sharon N. Hughes is a globally recognised expert in Black beauty culture, fashion marketing, and inclusive brand strategy. With over 25 years of experience across academia and industry, she brings a distinctive voice to the evolving conversation around authenticity, representation, and ethical storytelling in fashion and beauty.

As a published academic, Dr Hughes’s research explores the cultural production of Black women, consumer identity, and diversity in marketing. Her insights support brands in building meaningful connections with underrepresented audiences—translating cultural fluency into business impact. She has consulted for major fashion houses, including Chanel, Jeffrey Campbell, Macy’s, and Limited Brands and advised educational institutions and global corporations on inclusive marketing, curriculum innovation, and leadership development.

A leading voice at the intersection of arts, technology, and business, she has worked with universities in the UK, US, Indonesia, Portugal and Dubai, bringing expertise in digital strategy, brand storytelling, and social media for fashion

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated stands at the forefront of the fight for universal access to quality healthcare. Through the Extraordinary Power of S.H.E., we advocate for education, awareness, and access to basic necessities — including safe drinking water, clean air, proper nutrition, quality housing, fair working conditions, a healthy environment, and freedom from discrimination.

Our mission is a clarion call for collective global action. Every individual, regardless of location or circumstance, deserves the right to live a healthy, dignified life. Let us continue working together to make this right a reality for all.

We’re closing out this year’s observation of Finer Womanhood Month by celebrating and congratulating Soror Jordan on her Zeta-versary! Four years ago this month, she joined the best sisterhood (yes, we’re biased) and elevated her level of Finer!

Her journey to Zeta is as global as our chapter. As a teenager, her family moved from the UK to the US. During those years, she learned a great deal about American culture, and by the time she returned to the UK, she already had some awareness of sororities.

After taking time to pursue her career goals and start her family, she came across our chapter and decided to re-engage with what she’d learned and explore further. She liked what she saw: a group of like‑minded, educated, successful women committed to making a positive impact in the world. We are oh so lucky to have her 💙🤍🕊️

The ladies of Alpha Alpha Eta Zeta Chapter were thrilled to support the St. Charles High School’s High Tea and Tiaras: A Celebration of Young Women, a beautiful gathering created to uplift, inspire, and empower the next generation of leaders.

As shared in the school’s invitation, this event brought young women together “for a day of reflection, inspiration and meaningful conversation,” offering them the chance to hear authentic stories of perseverance, purpose, and sisterhood.

Our chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is honoured to sponsor this celebration, a perfect reflection of our commitment to Finer Womanhood, Scholarship, Service, and Sisterhood, as well as the empowerment of young women across the globe.

High Tea, a cherished tradition in British culture, represents elegance, community, and thoughtful dialogue, making it the perfect setting to pour into over 200+ brilliant young women as they explored leadership, personal growth, and the power of supporting one another.

Each year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority celebrates Finer Womanhood Month, which is a time to reflect on our core principles and the impact of our members on communities worldwide.

At the heart of Finer Womanhood Month lies the concept of “Finer Womanhood,” which is not simply about outward appearances, but the deeper qualities of strength, grace, integrity, and leadership. Zeta Phi Beta defines a “Finer Woman” as one who excels in every aspect of life—whether academic, professional, or personal—and holds herself to the highest standards of respect, compassion, and ethical conduct.

In the spirit of this observation, we would like to celebrate and congratulate Soror Keary-Smith on her Zeta-versary! This month, 4 years ago, she joined the best sisterhood (yes, we’re biased) and elevated her level of Finer!

Her story of finding Zeta is a simple but powerful one. She is born and raised in the UK. She happened to come across some information and liked what she saw, she knew that this sisterhood was a home for her where she can serve her community alongside like-minded women.
