University Visit ⭐

Last week, our Hospitality learners enjoyed an inspirational visit to University of West London.

Learners were warmly welcomed for a tour of the university’s fantastic facilities, including a visit to ‘Pillars’, the student-run restaurant, where they experienced live cooking demonstrations and explored the creativity and skill behind professional hospitality and culinary arts.

The visit also gave students the opportunity to meet members of the delivery team and learn more about the range of courses and progression opportunities available within Higher Education.

Experiences like this are invaluable in helping learners see that the next step in their journey is achievable, inspiring confidence and ambition for the future.

A huge thank you to the team at University of West London for hosting such a welcoming, informative and enjoyable day. Our learners had a fantastic experience and left feeling truly inspired.

SEND Fayre 💛

Last week, we welcomed staff and guests to our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Fayre - a CPD event designed to provide valuable networking opportunities and share expertise from our Horizons SEND and Additional Learning Support (ALS) teams.

We were also pleased to welcome external specialists Jenny Zentner, Speech and Language Therapist and David Howard from CENMAC, who support learners with SEND through specialist expertise and assistive technology.

The event enabled mainstream staff to access specialist knowledge and practical strategies that can be taken directly into the classroom to further support learners.

Attendees were able to enhance their understanding, raise awareness and gain valuable information on all things SEND and ALS, helping to strengthen inclusive practice across the college.

The event was a huge success and we look forward to running more opportunities like this in the future.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported such an important and informative event, highlighting the services, support and opportunities available for our learners.

Half Term Break 🌟

As we reach the end of the first half of the Summer term, we’d like to wish all our students and staff a very happy half term break!

It’s been a busy and successful start to the Summer term, and we’re incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved so far.

Virtual Reality Dementia Experience 🩵

Today, our Health & Social Care students had the opportunity to experience a powerful simulation designed to help people better understand what it can feel like to live with dementia.

This immersive experience gave our learners valuable insight, helping to build empathy, awareness and understanding for those working within the care sector.

A huge thank you to Training2Care and Care Providers Voice for bringing their incredible Virtual Reality Dementia Bus experience to our learners.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued partnership and support in creating meaningful learning opportunities for our students.

Anthony Nolan 💚

Today, we welcomed the Anthony Nolan team to Rush Green Campus for an inspiring and informative session on the importance of stem cell donation.

Anthony Nolan is a charity dedicated to saving the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders through stem cell transplants and lifesaving research.

Students and staff had the opportunity to learn more about how stem cell donors can help save lives, ask questions and speak directly with the team during their recruitment pop-up throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who attended the talk, visited the stand and helped support such an important cause.
