Welcome to all our new and returning students joining us for the 2026/27 academic year!

Whether you’re starting your first course, continuing your studies or taking the next step towards your career, we’re so excited to have you with us.

There’s plenty to look forward to as you settle into college life, from Induction Week and Freshers’ activities to meeting new people, getting involved in enrichment and making the most of everything BDC has to offer.

And remember, you’re never on your own. Our support teams are here to help you get the most out of your time at college - both in and out of the classroom.

💡 Top tip: Good attendance is one of the best ways to stay on track, build your skills and achieve your goals.

Huge congratulations to Nathan & Benjamin! 🎉

After completing a year long internship with BDC’s Fitness Centre through the REACH Internship Programme, both Nathan and Benjamin have passed their OriGym CIMSPA-endorsed Level 2 Gym Instructor practical assessment! 💪

Alongside completing the online theory element of their qualification, they’ve spent the year working as part of the Fitness Centre team, gaining hands on experience in a busy gym environment.

Their role has included supporting customers, helping with the day to day running of the Fitness Centre, setting up equipment and facilities and developing their communication, teamwork, customer service and workplace skills.

Now, they’re leaving their internship with a year of valuable work experience and an industry recognised qualification that can help them take their next steps towards a career in the fitness industry.

Nathan said: “The thing I’ve enjoyed most about the internship is working with new people as a team to help the customers.”

He’s now hoping to find a job in customer service or within the fitness industry.

Well done, Nathan and Benjamin, what an achievement! 👏
