'Relics' brings together three exhibitions curated by Warburg students on the MA in Art History, Curatorship and Renaissance Culture.

Drawing on the Warburg’s Library, Archive and Photographic Collection, the exhibitions also include new and recent works by PhD artists from the Slade School of Fine Art, whose studios are housed on the top floor of the Institute, bringing the activity of the building’s historical collections and contemporary artistic practice into dialogue.

Please join us in celebrating the impact of the Refugee Law Clinic at its annual Summer Event.

Established in 2020, the University of London’s Refugee Law Clinic is an innovative project providing pro bono legal advice for refugee clients. Its work provides some of the most disadvantaged communities in London with access to fair and equal legal representation, a basic human right which many asylum seekers in the UK struggle to find.

The evening will bring together staff, volunteers, partners and members of the public to celebrate the Clinic's work over the past year. There will be speeches, volunteer awards and a reception.

Wednesday 10 June I 6pm - 8pm I Chancellor's Hall, Senate House

Join our panel of award-winning authors, historians, scientists and broadcasters for a high-stakes, high-altitude debate!

Each speaker will bring a single object - a ‘Trojan Horse’ that contains surprising worlds hidden inside it. These objects may look simple, but each one carries stories of history, science, politics, memory, and imagination.

One by one, you will decide which objects are thrown overboard and which deserve to stay. Each speaker must convince you that their object matters most. Round by round, the stakes rise until only one object survives!

This event is organised as part of the School of Advanced Study’s Public Humanities Fellowship, which aims to broaden and reimagine how humanities research engages with the world.

Tuesday 7 July | 18:00-19:30 | Chancellor’s Hall, Senate House
