Karuta UK The London Karuta Club practice once or twice per month. Join our WhatsApp group for details! The London Karuta Club and Karuta UK are currently synonymous.

The London Karuta Club was formed at University College London in 2016 and has held regular practice sessions ever since. Members have included locals, Japanese expats to the UK, international students, and holidaymakers from Europe that wish to catch a practice session during their stay in London. As the only Karuta club in the UK, and one of the few in Europe, we are proud to promote the game and foster further cultural exchange between the UK and Japan.

As the new academic year begins, we're going to try and grow the club by advertising it in a few London universities🌸

We also have a new website which we hope to fill with learning resources for new players ( karuta.uk ), and a WhatsApp group to make it easier for us all to communicate and plan practice sessions ( karuta.uk/whatsapp ).

We can also plan online games to fill the gaps between in-person sessions💪
