RCPsych has welcomed the Government's ambition to end rough sleeping in England.

Homelessness and mental illness are inextricably linked. Mental illness can be both a cause and a consequence of homelessness. While access to safe and secure accommodation is fundamental to good mental health, lasting change requires timely access to mental healthcare alongside support for physical health, substance misuse, employment, benefits and social care where needed.

Professor Subodh Dave, President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists has welcomed the Government's commitment to offer everyone sleeping rough in England a route off the streets this winter.

RCPsych President Professor Subodh Dave has issued a statement addressing some of the issues raised in Channel 4's new documentary titled 'The Great ADHD Myth?'.

Professor Dave said: “The way we speak about neurodevelopmental conditions really matters. It can fuel harmful stigma experienced by people living with the condition and risk discouraging people from seeking the support and treatment they need."
