Vest Scholarships: Engineering research opportunities in the U.S.
Dear UK-based engineering PhD and master's degree students in ACE:
As a Vest Scholar, you can spend a year — with paid tuition, travel and living expenses — at a top U.S. engineering school pursuing research with leading faculty.
The Charles M. Vest NAE Grand Challenges for Engineering International Scholars Program (http://vestscholars.org), endorsed by the Royal Academy of Engineering and the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, unites talented young engineers from across the United Kingdom with leading engineering institutions in the United States.
As a 2019-2020 Vest Scholar, you will receive:
1) Living and travel expenses, and tuition covered by the host institution for the 12-month scholarship period. (Note: Some scholarships may be for research only; visit vestscholars.org for current information)
2) An opportunity to perform research in the laboratory of a leading faculty scholar
3) Access to relevant engineering classes and academic credit toward graduate degrees - PhD and master's (subject to the policies of the host institution and agreement between the host institution and your degree-granting institution)
To be eligible, you must:
A) Be enrolled in a UK-based graduate-level (PhD or master's) engineering program during the scholarship year
😎 Provide a compelling proposal for conducting research and study in one of the 14 NAE Grand Challenges for Engineering during the one-year scholarship period (summer 2019 to spring 2020)
Applicants are encouraged to identify and communicate with potential research mentors at their intended host institution(s) (PhD Supervisor or other ACE Academics) prior to submitting an application.
