One of the most exciting aspects of education at Aquinas is ensuring our students are equipped not just for today, but for the rapidly evolving future.
This year, all of our Year 12 students are completing a FutureLearn course in partnership with global consultancy firm Accenture Digital Skills: Artificial Intelligence.
Through this course, students are developing a strong understanding of what artificial intelligence – and in particular generative AI - is, and why it matters. They are exploring how AI is already transforming industries and reshaping both our professional and personal lives.
Crucially, the course goes beyond theory. Students are learning about the emergence of generative AI, its growing impact within the workplace, and the key skills required to work effectively alongside it. This includes critical thinking, ethical awareness, and an understanding of how to use AI as a tool to enhance productivity and creativity.
As educators, it is our responsibility to prepare students for a world where AI will be an integral part of nearly every career pathway.
By engaging with industry-led learning through partners like Accenture, we are ensuring our students are not only informed, but empowered. We look forward to seeing how they apply these skills in their studies and future careers. We will be evaluating the course with the view to rolling it out to move of our learners next academic year!
