What an unforgettable day at the UEL Summer Festival! ☀️

Docklands Campus was packed with energy, talent and ambition as we celebrated our biggest event of the year centered around our Year of Health theme.

From the jaw dropping spectacle of the live aerial piano performance in Docklands Square to exploring interactive ideas with UEL’s Schools and Services, today showed exactly what happens when community and innovation collide.

Massive shoutout to everyone who brought their competitive edge to the Conquer the Docklands Challenge. All the funds raised across our workshops today are going directly into expanding and developing our facilities for our students and the local community. 💪

Thank you to our incredible event partners, staff, volunteers, and everyone who came out to share the good vibes. east London, you proved once again why you are a truly global destination! 🗺

Another major achievement for the University of East London.

UEL has been named the highest climber in the UK in the Complete University Guide, rising an impressive 30 places in the overall league table.

This builds on our continued momentum after climbing 23 places in the Guardian University Guide 2026 and breaking into the UK's top 40 universities for the first time.

Our careers-first approach is helping students gain the skills, confidence and real-world experience needed to thrive, with UEL now recognised as the fastest-rising university in England for graduate employability.

Today, the University of East London marked a significant milestone in international education and sports development. We were honored to host the Indian National Football Team on our campus during their UK Unity Cup tour ⚽️

Representatives from the All India Football Federation (AIFF), National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU), Global Institute of Sport (GIS) also attended the event, as discussions with UEL continue to forge an international collaboration focused on football talent development, elite performance and sports science support, and coach education and knowledge exchange.

Thank you to the players, coaches, AIFF, NISAU and GIS representatives, and East London Sport for driving change through the power of sport 🙌

A hackathon is a fast paced, 12 to 48 hour event where teams come together to tackle a real-world problem and pitch their solution to a panel of judges and entrepreneurs.
