🚨 Fashion Folio Stage 2 applications now open 🚨

For aspiring fashion designers and communicators preparing a portfolio for undergraduate study, postgraduate applications or career development.

Over 11 weeks, you’ll develop research, design development, technical, and portfolio presentation skills, supported by tutors who push you to make your best work.

Many Fashion Folio students progress to leading fashion programmes.

Experience Central Saint Martins with a short course

Central Saint Martins (CSM) is one of the world’s most renowned arts and design colleges, bringing together a diverse range of creative practices under one roof. It is known for fostering innovation and boundary-pushing creativity across fashion, fine art, graphic design, 3D design, architecture, and performance.

All of this takes place within an inspiring historic setting. The Granary Building—designed in 1852 by Lewis Cubitt, the architect behind King’s Cross Station—once stored wheat for London’s bakers. Today, it has been beautifully restored into a vibrant creative hub.

Taking a short course is your opportunity to experience studying in this unique environment. We offer a wide range of courses across disciplines—from fashion design to product design, graphic design, jewellery, ceramics, fine art, and more—and you’ll learn in the same studios and classrooms as our full-time students.

My name is Pita and I’m an illustrator and comic artist based in Manchester

I recently did the Graphic Novel and Comic Book Art Short Course because I was looking for structured guidance on the full process of developing a comic — from idea to ex*****on — while also receiving live mentorship and feedback.

I learned about the different stages of making a comic, including story writing, storyboarding, character design and page layout. I also gained a clearer understanding of how to pace a narrative visually, how to refine ideas through iteration, and how to approach comic‑making as a disciplined, sustainable practice. At the end of the course, I had a script, character designs, thumbnails and the first completed page of my comic.

Comic‑making involves many stages and can feel overwhelming when you’re starting out. If you’re looking for a place to begin — or to take your early ideas more seriously — this short course is a great starting point.

One student takes us inside the Complete Photography Short Course 📸

This 20-week course explores photographic practice through lectures and hands-on workshops across digital, analogue, camera-less processes and 3D photogrammetry.

You’ll learn to:
• Control your camera for different photographic outcomes
• Develop your own photographic practice through research and experimentation
• Work with analogue (35mm, medium format, 5x4, pinhole) and digital cameras
• Process film, scan negatives, edit in Photoshop and print in the darkroom
• Shoot in studio and on location with flash
• Experiment with alternative processes and 3D photogrammetry
