Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity for women was founded on Oct. 15, 1898, at the Virginia State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, VA. Currently, ZTA has 215,000 initiated members and is the third largest of twenty-six organizations that comprise the National Panhellenic Conference. The Lambda Theta chapter of ZTA was installed at New York University in New York City on Saturday
December 10th, 2011, making it the 246th link in ZTA's chain of chapters. Over 80 freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors from all across the world and from every NYU college are represented in NYU ZTA. NYU ZTA is actively involved in NYU Greek Life and campus community. Our members strive to uphold the four pillars of NYU Greek life: leadership, service, scholarship and friendship. In NYU ZTA, members enjoy opportunities to exercise leadership skills, develop academic and personal excellence, and create lasting friendships.
