Who we are:
Established in 2012 by a team of passionate students, we are a society constantly striving to improve the student experience in our department. We are a society for students by students. What we do:
We constantly organise activities ranging from socials to factory tours to workshops, in order to create opportunities for our students to gain industrial exposure and new skills valuable t

o employers. We also represent our students’ interest in the department and university through the Staff Student Consultative Committee (SSCC). Not to mention, we guide our students in their university experience at UCL Mechanical Engineering. Our core values:
We uphold a set of core values - integrity, sustainability and respect for people in everything we do. We also celebrate diversity and operate in fairness. The MES strive to promote professionalism amongst students. Through cooperation, we aim to create a sense of belonging and ownership of the society achievements. You're interested? Ready for some action? MES is organising a paintball session for members looking to take a break from lectures and enjoy an afternoon of teamwork and competition!

MES will cover the full paintball experience, including 400 paintballs per person… plus a few slices of pizza 👀

Three days of ideas turning into reality. Brainstorming, rapid prototyping, teamwork under pressure, and a lot of fun along the way.
From 23–25 January, join us at MechSpace for an Autodesk-powered engineering challenge where you’ll design and manufacture a solution from scratch based on a surprise design brief revealed at the kick-off 🔧💡
You’ll be working in teams of up to 6, mixing creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on making. Don’t have a team? That’s totally fine, we’ll randomly allocate you to one, so everyone gets involved 🤝
