We are pleased to announce the appointment of His Eminence Janāb al-Shaykh Qays Bahjat al-ʿAṭṭār, the Director of Markaz al-Turāth al-Islāmī (Islamic Heritage Centre) Mashhad, Islamic Republic of Iran, to the Honorary Fellowship of The Shīʿah Institute, London, U.K.
His Eminence al-Shaykh Qays Bahjat al-ʿAṭṭār is the compiler of five published books, the editor of twelve major critical editions of foundational sources of Shia Islamic texts, including three different critical editions of the Nahj al-Balāghah, and the author of numerous introductions to primary sources. His contributions to Arabic verse are examples of his outstanding mastery of Arabic language and literature.
His Eminence al-Shaykh Qays Bahjat al-ʿAṭṭār is one of the finest scholars and luminary minds of the Shia Muslim world in the current age. Professor Hamid Algar of the University of California, Berkeley is one of the most renowned scholars of Islamic Studies. Professor Mehdi Mohaghegh of Tehran University and the founder and director of the McGill University (Montreal, Canada) Institute of Islamic Studies Tehran Branch is one of the most renowned scholars of Islamic Studies. He has authored more than fifty books and over two hundred and ten articles on Islamic philosophy and mysticism, Persian language and literature, and the history of Islamic medicine. His published works are in Arabic, English and Persian.
