KCL EFS is delighted to collaborate with Cambridge Clare College Student Investment Fund on the ‘Career Panel: Perspectives in Finance’, featuring Augusto Lopez-Claros, a former Director of Research at World Bank, Tamim Bayoumi, a former Deputy Director of the IMF, and Imran Lakha, the ‘Options Insight’ founder.

Augusto Lopez Claros studied Mathematical Statistics in Cambridge University, as well as a PhD in Economics in Duke University and became a professor of economics at the University of Chile in Santiago. He is currently the Executive Director of the Global Governance Forum and has over 30 years of experience, working in organisations such as the World Bank and the Global Competitiveness Program at the World Economic Forum in Geneva.

Graduating in 2001, with a first-class Economics degree at LSE, Imran Lakha has since pursued a career in trading – with a 20-year span trading for Citibank, Bank of America, and Credit Suisse. This has allowed him to amass knowledge in managing large portfolios and taking institutional size risk, which he has since translated into a training course called ‘Options for Asset Management’. After founding Options Insight and creating this programme, he is now a professional trading mentor, whilst also running regular training programs for students and retail traders.

Tamim Bayoumi is a Cambridge University and Stanford University economics graduate, as well as a former Deputy Director of the International Monetary Fund, an institution he has been affiliated with for 32 years. Additionally, he was a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, as well as a published author.

The event will focus on the different career paths in economics and finance and will be followed by a Q&A session.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn from their valuable insights.
