Children from the following schools in Ashfield made wreaths for today's service at the Cenotaph.

Croft Primary School

Abbey Hill Primary School

Morven Park Primary School.

Kingsway Primary School.

Annesley Primary School.

I feel so proud of our local school children for making these wreaths and it was a honour to lay them at the Cenotaph on behalf of the whole of Ashfield.

Yesterday at Whitwell Lodge, who meet at Millom, we enjoyed a fantastic installation meeting, attended by the Deputy Head of Cumberland and Westmorland Freemasons Keith Beaumont.

It was wonderful to see Rod Bosanko installed by Michael Bullock, as Worshipful Master.

A great day, a great meeting, and warm congratulations to Rod on taking the chair, we wish him a successful and enjoyable year ahead.

Last night we celebrated 50 years since the completion of Divernagh Orange Hall.
Members, wives, family and friends enjoyed a catered meal followed by Christian fellowship and a social evening.

The new hall was built in defiance of an attack on the previous hall. It galvanised the local Protestant community and the lodge membership has remained strong ever since.

The current membership in the photo below spans three generations.

The hall was officially opened by the late Bro Rev W Martin Smyth - Imperial Grand Master.
