‼️PATHWAY TO ACADEMIC ONCOLOGY‼️
Dr Yu-Hsuen Yang is an Academic Foundation doctor in Medical Oncology working within the Barts Health NHS Trust. During his academic training, he served as sub-investigator on several Phase III, international randomised controlled trials in urological cancers.
He graduated from UCL with an MBBS (Hons) BSc (Hons), and has also completed a MPhil in Computational Biology at Cambridge University. He is interested in using data science to study tumour heterogeneity, dissect mechanisms of treatment resistance, and identify biomarkers for treatment. He is passionate about mentorship and education in oncology, and is co-founder of the British Oncology Network for Undergraduate Societies (BONUS).
Yu-Hsuen will be discussing the benefits of a potential career in medical oncology and the academic training pathway, with reference to his own experiences. He will also be providing advice on how you can take important first steps into this career as a medical student.
