🎓 CLASS OF 1991, CAN YOU HELP US FIND YOUR FRIENDS?

It’s 35 years since the Class of 1991 left Trent College, and we’re getting ready to welcome them back to school for a special reunion.

📅 Saturday 10 October 2026 | 12.30–4.30pm

The idea for the reunion was sparked by two members of the Class of 1991, Chris and Lucy Brazendale (nee Wilson) who felt it was time to bring everyone back together. We’d love to make sure as many of the year group as possible know about it.

And this is where we need your help.

We don’t have contact details for everyone from the Class of 1991. If you were in the year group, or know someone who was, please share this post, tag friends in the comments or send them the event details directly (check your inbox for today's email).

You might be the person who helps us reconnect two old friends who haven't spoken for years. ❤️

The reunion will be a relaxed afternoon back at Trent, with a welcome drink, optional school tours, a BBQ, time to catch up and a sneak peek into the school archives. We’ve already uncovered this photograph of the 1990/91 rugby team, but what else will we find?

If the Nottingham Panthers’ pre-season is anything to go by, Panthers Nation is going to be in for a season to remember!

🏆 The Panthers have opened their 2026/27 campaign with two sold-out pre-season games, two wins and two trophies, beating Ducs d’Angers 4–2, raising the Aladdin Cup, before a 4–1 victory over Gothiques d’Amiens to lift the GM Memorial Trophy.

The packed Motorpoint Arena is a brilliant indication of just how popular ice hockey is in Nottingham, and the strength of the following behind the Panthers.

After 12 years as Head of Trent College, HMC Independent School Bill Penty has retired.

From celebrating 150 years of Trent, to navigating the challenges of Covid-19 and a changing education landscape, his headship has been a significant chapter in the school's history.

Above all, Bill has always put pupils first and valued the relationships that make Trent such a special community.

We look back on 12 years of leadership, achievement, change and plenty of memorable moments, and say thank you to Bill for all he has given to Trent College and The Elms.

Celebrating 70 years of service to Trent College 💙

This summer, we said farewell to two much-loved members of the Trent College, HMC Independent School community as Peter Sherwin and Sharon Moulds retired after a remarkable combined 70 years of service.

From caring for the grounds that generations of pupils have enjoyed, to being a reassuring presence at the heart of the school office, Peter and Sharon have each made an enduring contribution to life at Trent.

As this year’s Head’s Guests of Honour at Speech Day & Prize Giving, their remarkable careers were celebrated with the warmth and affection they have both inspired over so many years.

We’ll also be sharing a follow-up feature celebrating the other members of staff leaving Trent this summer, recognising the dedication and contribution they have each made to school life and, most importantly, to the experience and success of the pupils.
