Student Union of the year finalists and number 1 in the East Midlands 🎉🏆

Our Exec Officers and CEO had an amazing time in London, attending the WhatUni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) and visiting the Loughborough London Campus.

In March, LSUTV hosted the National Student Television Awards with student Media organisations from across the Country coming to visit and celebrate all the work that’s gone on over the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year.

We’re over the moon seeing their work be awarded Silver for Technical Innovation and Bronze for Post Production.

We look forward to seeing what they get up to in the new Academic Year!

To celebrate 50 Years of LSU, we set up an art competition, allowing our students to share their vision of LSU, its identity, history, vibrancy of and impact on the student experience, and evolution throughout the years.

It was amazing to see students’ interpretation of the brief and what LSU means to them, so a huge thank you to everyone who submitted an art design.

Congratulations to the winner of the competition, .design and to our runners up, Maisie Francis and Molly White, the committee were amazed with each of you artwork and how you managed to encapsulate the spirit of LSU and what we do for our community.

Heather Gray’s design will be a permanent feature of LSU, above the stairs leading to the student hub. And be sure to keep an eye out for the designs from our runners up as they’ll be making appearances in our at a later date.

A huge shout out and thank you to for organising the competition and the 50 Years of LSU celebrations, none of this would’ve happened without your hard work!

If you haven’t done so already, fill in one of our 50 years forms placed in the Student Hub and next to the Microwaves, opposite CO-OP, for our time capsule, which will be hidden for another 50 years!

On Wednesday, LSU and held an event to share research and initiatives centred around improving and expanding student-staff collaboration throughout Higher Education.

President-Elect, Kieran Oliver shares his thoughts:
‘It’s great to see the enthusiasm demonstrated by both the university and the Students’ Union In promoting positive student staff participation partnerships’

We were overjoyed to be hosting such an amazing event and to have the opportunity to hear about all the work and research being undertaken on such a promising subject. We look forward to continuing to develop more opportunities that build meaningful student-staff collaboration in the future.

A massive thank you to Sandie Dann and Hannah McManmon for developing the event, offering an environment for everyone to come together to share their perspectives and work. And a special thank you to academics, Declan Doyle from for sharing their insights into this subject.

What an amazing night we had on the 16th of March with the LSU Dragon’s Den!

10 groups came to The lounge and presented to our 4 judges as to how they would use their funding to support their sections. From new projects and events to innovative ideas, we got to listen to them all.

Congratulations to LSU Media for winning Dragon’s Den and to Fighting Robot Society for coming in second place.

A massive thank you to everyone that attended, whether you presented an idea or where there to support your group, it was great to have you be part of the event.

And, of course, a huge shoutout to our Dragon’s!
