Forensic Sciences isn’t just all about humans - but animals too! 🐰🐶🐱 At our Late Night Locard: Animal Special, we invited a range of industry experts to be interviewed by two of our third year students, in a talk show-style event in front of a live audience 🎤🗣️

The panel of animal experts shared some grim but admittedly interesting stories from real-life investigations and current casework 🔎

The topic was prevalent to society today, as they discussed the the link between animal and human crimes,🚨 with UK legislation changing to reflect this.

This was a great way for our students to gain an insight into where their careers could take them, and what it’s really like to work in this particular field of forensic sciences 🐁🔦

We were delighted to host the panellists, consisting of:

▶️Elaine Rees – Crime Scene Supervisor and Wildlife Crime Officer (Beds Police)
▶️David Martin – Veterinary Expert Witness (IVC Evidensia)
▶️Lorenzo Ressel – Professor of Veterinary Pathology (Liverpool University)
▶️Henny Martineau – Head of Veterinary Pathology (Royal Veterinary College)

A lovely sketch of our new 3-foot humanoid robot - Nao 🤖 from our 3D Graphics and Animation unit this week.

Not only did Nao perform a relaxing Tai-Chi dance for its audience, but students got to see flying drones in action ⚙️🛸

This was a great way to inspire students to 3D model robots of their own for an animation project 🥽✍🏼
