🧗‍♂️ Today, our Level 3 Outdoor Education Year 1 and Year 2 students had the fantastic opportunity to learn from guest speaker Al Gay, who delivered an engaging Climbing and High Ropes Workshop.

Students developed their practical skills, confidence, and understanding of working at height through a hands-on session led by an experienced industry professional.

A huge thank you to Al for sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation of outdoor education practitioners! 👏

What can you create with a handful of old nuts and bolts? Our talented Motor Vehicle students have turned workshop materials into a collection of impressive upcycled figures.

They're hosting a sale on Thursday 11 June at college, available for all current students to buy - raising money for Trunks Across the Thames!

SPORT SCIENCE LECTURER CALLUM PARKER-STUBBS PUBLISHES RESEARCH IN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED SPORTS JOURNAL 🗞️

Congratulations to BCA Sport Science lecturer Callum Parker-Stubbs, whose latest research has been published in the highly respected International Journal of Performance Analysis in Sport.

The study, titled ‘Visual Exploratory Activity of Youth Soccer Defenders: Insights from Out-of-Possession Play’, investigates how youth football defenders scan and gather information during different defensive phases of play. The research focused on providing valuable new insights into player decision-making and defensive performance in academy football.

After more than 15 years of dedication to the Windsor Forest Colleges Group community, this week we say farewell to our CEO, Gillian May.

From serving as Principal of BCA for ten years to leading WFCG as CEO since 2021 following the merger, Gillian’s leadership, passion, and commitment have made a lasting impact across the Group.

Our ALFIE Introduction to Cookery students recently visited Hare Hatch Farm Shop to find out about the importance of buying fruit and vegetables in season and locally. They were given a tour and talk by Jan Murray from Newbury and District Agriculture Society.

The ALFIE Community Choir held an All Stars Greatest Showcase Concert last week to celebrate their learning this year. Each student bravely sung a solo as well as some whole choir songs that had the audience clapping and cheering - well done everyone! 👏

Last week, our Level 3 Protective Services and Level 3 Outdoor Education learners headed to North Wales for their annual expedition 🏔️🌧️

Despite some challenging weather conditions, students showed incredible resilience, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the trip, taking part in activities including rock climbing, axe throwing, and two days of hiking in Snowdonia.

The expedition gave learners the opportunity to build key skills such as navigation, map reading, independent cooking, and teamwork, all while working towards important unit criteria for their courses 👏

BCA ALUMNI HEAD TO BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT SEMI-FINALS WITH THE HAWKSTONE FARMERS CHOIR 🗞️

Two BCA alumni are preparing to swap their agricultural expertise for the national spotlight as The Hawkstone Farmers Choir heads to the London Apollo for the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday.
