Friday Fact 🧠✨
Ever heard of Theory of Mind? It’s the ability to understand that other people have their own thoughts and beliefs-different from our own 💭

Research shows this skill develops gradually, with a big shift around age 4, when children begin to understand that others can hold false beliefs (believing something that isn’t true).

This is a key milestone for communication, empathy, and forming friendships 💬

✨NEW Blog Post ✨
Why do children start talking at different ages? And how do we know what’s “typical”?
Our latest blog explores how parents across the UK are helping the team at Lancaster University build a more accurate picture of early language development — and why UK-specific research really matters.

We went to a baby signing session today with TinyTalk South Manchester with Emma and absolutely loved it. 💛

Before babies can talk, they already understand so much and baby sign gives them a way to communicate those thoughts, feelings and needs earlier. Simple signs like “milk”, “more” or “finished” can help reduce frustration and build confidence for both babies and parents. TinyTalk teaches signs alongside speech and music-based activities using British Sign Language (BSL) signs.

What really stood out today was how fun and relaxed it was. Singing, sensory play, meeting other parents - and watching little ones light up when they connect a sign with a word. It’s such a lovely way to support communication and bonding in those early months. 🫶

If you’re thinking about trying baby signing, we’d definitely recommend giving it a go!

Thank you Emma and all the parents who spoke to us today.
