Come to us direct, we'd love to meet you! Tydfil Training, a subsidiary of the college Merthyr Tydfil offer a range of Traineeships and Apprenticeships. Referral from Careers Wales required. You will be in required to attend 12-21 hours per week and receive an allowance of up to £30 per week. This course is designed for learners at any level who are not sure what they want to do for a career and/o

r who have certain barriers which prevent them from taking part in employment or other learning. Placements are available for work experience. Subject areas you could study are:
Essential Skills qualifications (entry level). Confidence Building. Preparing for interviews/placement. On completion/Career Paths:
Opportunities to progress onto a level 1 (Traineeship) programme. Further learning at college. Employment. Traineeships- Level 1

You will be required to complete 30 hours minimum on placement (40 hours max). Learners can recieve an allowance of up to £50 per week. Learners will learn the skills needed to progress into an apprenticeship, further education or employment. A programme of vocational study at level 1 will be followed at at both college and work placement alongside undertaking essential skills for work and life qualification. Subject areas you could study are:
Business and Administration
Retail
Customer Service
Health & Social Care (Childcare)
Motor Vehicle
Construction
Distribution and Warehousing


On completion/ Career paths:
Opportunities to progress onto an apprenticeship
Futher learning at college (further education)
Employment. Information for apprentices. Apprenticeships are designed to give individuals valuable qualifications, vital work experience - and a salary while studying. On the job, you'll work as an employee alongside experienced staff members. Off the job, you'll learn through a combination of learning methods such as day release at college and assessments in your workplace. You will gain as a minimum:
A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) or Qualification Credit Framework (QCF)
Technical knowledge Qualifications
Transferable work related skills such a communication and application of number. A foundation apprenticeship takes between 12 and 24 months to complete. A standard apprenticeship will take up to two years to complete depending on what occupational route is being followed. When you sign up to the training scheme you will be given a target/ completion date.

Please be aware that, "In-house training will initially be provided in our Brecon office, and the position will then be located in Merthyr office. Candidates should be prepared for travel to Brecon for a number of months."
