Student Hub Live workshop 10 January: Get your study priorities sorted!
Student Hub Live workshop (10 January): New Year's resolutions, Get your study priorities sorted!

The focus of this new hour-long evening workshop on Wednesday 10 January will be on re-prioritising your study goals and reconsidering time management.

Tutors Isabella Henman and Karen Foley will lead the discussion about what is (and is not!) working for you in terms of managing your study time. This will include sharing some examples of useful time management techniques.

The workshop will be run in an online room and will include plenty of opportunities for interaction with the tutors and your fellow students. It will start with a 5 minute video introducing what will be covered in the session, followed by a 10 minute presentation using the whiteboard and 30 minutes of breakout activities. At the end, everybody will come back together for a 15 minute plenary and the opportunity to share learnings together.

Due to the expected high number of participants, there will be 2 sessions as follows:

• Access and Level 1 students: Welcome 6.45pm, session runs 7-8pm (register online at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/new-years-resolutions-get-your-study-priorities-sorted-access-and-level-1-tickets-41312343331)

NIGHTLINE

Why Not Save the Nightline Number to your Phone Right Now?
020 7631 0101
OU student life is not easy. You’re studying hard; you might be working full or part-time, have caring responsibilities and coping with all the anxieties that life throws at you. We all have mental health whether or not we consider it to be a problem and talking it out can make a great difference to your wellbeing.

If you need someone to talk to, who’ll listen to your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgemental way, OU students can call Nightline, a confidential listening and information service run by students for students.

Nightline’s highly trained student volunteers are available from 6pm to 8am through the night and they’re waiting to hear from you. No topic is off bounds and they’ll listen as long as you need.

Lines are now open to take your calls. Students outside of the UK are recommended to use Skype to phone for free. If you ring outside of hours you’ll receive information about the Samaritans and a contact number to call. There’s a related email service operating alongside the hotline and outside of hotline hours. If you make contact in this way, you’ll receive a reply within 48 hours.

Call: 020 7631 0101
or Instant message (Skype): chat.nightline
or Skype Phone: londonnightline
or by text: 07717 989 900
You can email the team at any time on [email protected]

Don’t assume you’ll never need to call on a friendly listening ear.
Don’t underestimate how much a chat might help.
Do keep these details to hand… just in case!
