The prestigious Snowdon Trust Master’s Scholarship programme opens for applications on 23 February 2026. These scholarships – worth up to £30,000 – aim to accelerate the most exceptional disabled students through their master’s studies and into leadership in all its forms.

Successful applicants will receive up to £15,000 towards their tuition fees and up to £15,000 maintenance payments to support their master’s studies. They will also be invited to join the Disabled Leaders Network, a supportive community of emerging disabled leaders.

In addition to the general award which is open to emerging disabled leaders on any career pathway, the DFN Snowdon Master’s Scholarship will be awarded to candidates pursuing careers in business leadership, government or policy, who have specific leadership ambitions which will help reduce the disability employment gap. As part of their commitment to disability leadership, DFN Snowdon Scholars are also expected to take part in a fully-funded week-long summer leadership school, hosted by the University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education centre.

Edinburgh Nightline provides Edinburgh Students with peer support out of hours. They provide support over phone as well as text using trained peer supporters. Edinburgh Nightline is run by student volunteers.

They are currently looking for volunteers who are able to listen with empathy without judging or trying to give advice. Volunteers must be able and willing to keep any involvement and any personal information they obtain through their volunteering confidential.

The training sessions run once per semester and no experience is required – just enthusiasm for the cause. They ask that volunteers can attend specific training days, and are willing to commit to one duty every 2-3 weeks.

All volunteers are an integral part of Edinburgh Nightline and receive an extremely high level of initial and ongoing training, based around training delivered by other organisations such as the Samaritans. Student volunteers are responsible for taking calls and e-listenings, for fundraising, and for the general upkeep of the service.

Applications to become an Edinburgh Nightline volunteer are now open on a rolling basis. Our training usually takes place at the start of each semester. If you apply after the training has taken place, we will consider your application in the next semester.
